Once Upon A Snowstorm is an immersive performance created by LYRA Theatre Company, devised in November of 2021 for children aged 5 to 8 years old. Focusing on the story of a litlle boy who gets lost in the forest and befriends the woodland animals, it was designed to tour around Scotland and fit a variety of venues.
My role as Assistant Designer consisted of designing and building the house, which was a key story-telling prop used throughout the performance. It had to open up, had a light fixture inside it, and a programmable turntable that a variety of cylinders could be fitted to and rotate on.
This beautiful and heartwarming piece of community theatre was created, from the first production meeting to opening night, in the space of four weeks.
